Meet Carrissa

Carrissa Hankins is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a master's degree in nursing from Widener University in Chester, PA.

Since getting her advanced practice nursing license in 2009, Carrissa has worked in Walk-in Care, Sleep Medicine, and Pulmonary Medicine clinics across Maine. She is a national conference speaker and sleep apnea coach.

Now she is on a mission to bring high quality sleep healthcare and Nutrition as a Sleep Strategy to anyone suffering from less-than-optimal sleep and health.

From 2011 to 2019, Carrissa worked hand-in-hand with a board-certified sleep and pulmonary physician in a sleep medicine clinic in northern Maine. Her primary focus was sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment, including sleep studies, CPAP, BiPAP, and ASV. She also managed patients with RLS (Restless Legs Syndrome), OSA with COPD overlap, and narcolepsy.

From 2019 to 2022, she worked in a pulmonology clinic. Her focus widened to include COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer screening, oxygen therapy, and respiratory failure.

Whether in a clinic setting or speaking at a conference, Carrissa loves to coach, teach, and help people to say "hello" to a better state of sleep health.
