Self-Download Options

Sleep HQ

Our preferred download review platform for coaching clients.

Cloud-based platform for self-monitoring CPAP download data.

Currently supported machine manufacturers include ResMed, Respironics, Fisher & Paykel, and Lowenstein.

You control who has access to your data - easily share and un-share.

You will need...

  • An SD card, a card reader, and a computer with an internet connection to move the data.
  • A free Sleep HQ account using the same email address you’ve supplied to our office.

Sleep HQ Tips & Troubleshooting

  1. Paid plan not required. Free accounts eventually revert to a limited data review window. When your account is linked to ours (not just shared), we will be able to look at all the data you have uploaded.
  2. First time uploads & cards with lots of data: Upload in chunks rather than all at once. Check out the Upload Troubleshooting video (below) for a walk through of how to make sure your data goes in the first time.
  3. Not all machines come with an SD card. If you've been using your machine without an SD card, the data that shows up from before the card was put in may not have the same level of detail as the data after the card was put in.
  4. Unless you get the Magic Uploader (which is optional), you'll want to upload the latest data from your machine 1-2 days before your next session.
  5. Using Sleep HQ  does not impact the data that lives on your machine or your healthcare team’s ability to view your download data in the native download app.

Oscar - Open Source CPAP Analysis Reporter

The most private & versatile option listed.

An open-source program that lives on your computer. No cost to install or run.

Compatible with multiple operating systems and available in multiple languages.

Supports multiple machine types and use of multiple machines.

Old-school interface & more complicated to use than Sleep HQ.

For the tech savvy, this option gets the job done.

Software updates are available periodically to fix bugs and add functionality.

What you'll need...

  • SD card and card reader to move your data.
  • Internet connection to download OSCAR.
  • Install OSCAR.
  • Download your SD card.
  • Generate your reports for the date range of your preference.
    • CPAP Statistics Report - shows statistics on use, setting changes, and machine details.
    • Overview Report - shows the data in graph format.

Because this is a program that gets installed onto your computer, there is a risk (though small) for a breach in your computer's security. If you are not comfortable in accepting this risk, do not use this option.

You'll be able to zoom in on waveform data while in the program.

If you print or save your reports, you will not be able to zoom in.

Doctor's Office/DME Download Options

If you don't want to mess with technology but do want to have a download report to go along with the course, your best bet may be to reach out to your sleep doctor's office or the respiratory therapist with your DME vendor.

You won't be able to zoom in on the data, but if you get the right reports, it'll still be helpful.

What to ask for...

  • Date Range: The last year of data or since you started using your machine - whichever makes the most sense for your situation
  • Report Type:
    • For ResMed devices: Compliance & Therapy Report
    • For Respironics devices: Trend Report

Machine Apps

Most machine apps will allow report generation as a pdf that you can share electronically.

They round out our list at the bottom because...

  • The viewable data categories are the most limited at of all the options listed, and
  • They can get stuck and stay stuck - which isn't helpful when you want to look at last night's data.
